Peter Mark was founded by brothers Peter and Mark Keaveney in 1961, opening its first salon on Grafton Street in Dublin. Since then, Peter Mark has grown into Ireland’s best-known hairdressing brand and one of Europe’s most successful hairstyling groups with 71 salons nationwide. The group have recruited and trained each of their current 1700 staff to deliver excellence in everything they do.

The Challenge.

Peter Mark have historically offered a variety of benefits to their workforce including health insurance, a pension scheme and a bike-to-work scheme to name a few. However, a 2015 employee survey revealed that communication of these benefits had previously been marginally effective, with many employees unware of the benefits offered. Furthermore, the survey identified key areas where their workforce desired greater support including mental and financial health support, access to corporate discounting and workplace recognition.

The Approach.

Driven by the survey findings Peter Mark developed a holistic strategy which includes an EAP service, financial planning assistance, smoking cessation programmes, pension and insurance promotion and a Wrkit platform.

The initial Wrkit solution would include Lifestyle Savings, meeting the demand for exclusive offers and Learning, which would afford Peter Mark employees an opportunity to develop their personal interests with a choice from hundreds of online courses.

92% of staff surveyed said they wanted to avail of savings. The Wrkit platform has great savings opportunities on all the big highstreets brands.

The Results.

In August 2016, Peter Mark launched their Wrkit platform with Lifestyle Savings and Learning to approximately 1700 employees. In the first 12 months 40% of employees had engaged with the savings module. The site saw an average of 314 visits per month with a total of 2547 purchasing events.

April 2018 saw the platform being upgraded. An additional module, Peter Mark Extras page which promoted all benefits, HR Policies and Social Media links available to all team members was also added to the platform in addition to an Engagement Dashboard giving access to real-time insights.

People forget things or get frustrated when they can’t remember where to find the information they need. The Peter Mark Extras page lets us host all info in once place, alleviating the confusion

Working closely with the Wrkit Client Engagement team Peter Mark are working toward a registration rate of 60% in 2019 and a long-term registration goal of 92%
